Far-right and nationalist politics are on the rise. Immigrants and minorities are being scapegoated like they were in the 1930s.
Tower Hamlets has a rich tradition of opposing racism and intolerance, from the Battle of Cable Street in 1936, to more recent community opposition to far-right extremism.
This season presents different cinematic representations of how bigotry can play out in society.

Our ‘end-of-season’ films are always meant to be a lot of stupid fun, and no film nails that brief more than the awkward cross-species coupling of HOWARD THE DUCK (1986). From executive producer George Lucas (STAR WARS), and the pages of Marvel comics, HOWARD THE DUCK (released somewhat bashfully in the UK as ‘Howard… A New Breed Of Hero’) is a comedy adventure spectacular about a fast-talking, cigar-chomping, beer-loving duck from a parallel universe who crashes to Earth and somehow winds up in Cleveland.

EMPORIUM PRO WRESTLING RETURNS FOR HOLIDAY HAVE AT IT!

LONDON’S WILDEST NIGHT OUT IS BACK AND BRINGING THEIR REGULAR SCHEDULE OF MADNESS, CHAOS AND DEBAUCHERY DURING THE FESTIVE PERIOD.

The city’s most chaotic obsession is decking the halls and the opponents because Emporium Pro Wrestling is back for Show 3, and this time it’s a holiday special bursting with tinsel, tantrums, and top-rope turmoil!

After body-slamming the East End into festive submission twice over, Emporium returns to Genesis Cinema for another night of cinematic carnage, over-the-top drama, and monsters in the ring ready to unwrap some serious punishment.

Expect snowstorms of suplexes, grudges colder than December air, and title fights so intense they’ll roast your chestnuts. Featuring some of the UK’s wildest wrestling stars, shocking twists, and enough holiday chaos to make Santa tap out.

This isn’t your nan’s Christmas panto….this is wrestling with bells on.

Emporium: The Afters takes over Genesis Cinema’s private bar once again, transforming it into a club night of pure carnage. Wrestlers swap the ring for the dancefloor, spinning late-night anthems and tearing it up 'til 2AM.

Costumes. Characters. Kayfabe. It’s still very real to us, and it doesn’t stop ‘til the lights come on.

Silents Synced pairs classic silent movies with epic rock music to bring audiences a unique big screen experience. Buster Keaton’s 1924 comedy classic is reimagined with R.E.M. 's alt-rock masterpieces Monster (1994) and New Adventures in Hi-Fi (1996). In this sublime comedy teetering between reality and illusion, Buster Keaton stars as a film projectionist who dreams of becoming a detective. He uses his limited skills when he is framed by a rival for stealing his girlfriend’s father’s pocket watch. Keaton reportedly broke his neck performing one of the many dangerous practical stunts in the film. Whether you’re a movie lover or a rock music fan this is an experience you won’t want to miss!!
