The People’s Film Club,

The Outside Project and Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest are teaming up once more for a night of queer celebration - putting the political back in Pride month. We will be celebrating the ‘outsider’ subcultures that queer communities have pioneered - creating

their own cultural spaces on the fringes of a homophobic and heteronormative society.

To kick off the night,

we will be bringing back our Outsider Pride exhibition - displaying all the placards, banners, and protest paraphernalia from this year’s Outsider Pride bloc. Alongside the exhibition, we will be bringing together all our favourite activist groups and queer

creators. There will be stalls by loads of fantastic LGBTQ grassroots groups, fab queer-made stuff for sale, along with pizza, drinks, and DJs.

We will be screening the truly iconic HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH!

The night is a fundraiser for homeless organisation The Outside Project which recently opened the UK’s first LGBTIQ+ shelter and community centre.

Pride is a protest. Pride was started by homeless trans women of colour. Let’s remember their legacy, and support our community. There is room here for everyone.

A transgender punk-rock girl from East Berlin tours the U.S. with her band as she tells her life story and follows the former lover/band-mate who stole her songs. Adapted from the critically acclaimed off-Broadway rock theater hit, "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" tells the story of the "internationally ignored" rock singer, Hedwig, and her search for stardom and love.
